This baseball season is looking to be a great one especially after it ending short last year. They have gained many new freshmen and have a lot of returning players ready to go. However, the team lost 7 seniors the impacted the team greatly.

The baseball team has lost stand-out hitters Jack Welch, Daniel Blitz, and Austin Orme. They also lost lockdown closer Alex Mauer who is playing baseball at the next level. However, Verot is more than ready to step up with the new additions such as freshman Timmy Lawson, Joe De La Nuez, and Matthew Turner.

Returning players such as seniors Brady Loughren, J. Henry Hobson, and Andreas Mantz. These three are more than ready to compete this year and win games. The team is well-rounded from freshman to senior. They have been working since the summer to compete this season.

The baseball team has some tough matchups this year. They will be playing the 2019 state champion cougars of Canterbury. They also have one of the biggest rivalries in Lee County, that being Fort Myers High. Verot and Fort Myers have been battling it out for decades, and it is always a fun matchup.
