Bishop Verot played Port Charlotte at home looking to bounce back. However, the weather got in the way and caused more than a two-hour delay. Even though Verot was in their locker most of the afternoon they managed to stay locked in and get a well-fought win 30-16.

The big story was 4-star receiver Chris Graves making his senior year debut and it was a memorable performance. The first play from scrimmage Chris Graves took it 80 yards first play for pay dirt. He was all over the field with 12 receptions 2 touchdowns and one pick-six. He also had 8 tackles and one huge hit. Verot's defense was very consistent and only allowed 2 touchdowns and the d-line had 3 sacks and 4 tackles for loss.

It was just very much needed for the Vikings, quarterback Carter Smith had his best game yet and threw for 2 touchdowns and ran for one. He threw for 260 yards and 50 yards rushing, having a very complete game for our freshman quarterback.

We travel next to Gulf Coast for their homecoming game and hope to come back 3-2 with another win.
