The Bishop Verot Boys lacrosse team is about half way through their season. The Vikings are off to a great start this year with a 6-0 record.

They have a very promising season ahead of them with some challenging teams in the coming weeks. With some of its biggest opponents being Gulf Coast High School, Saint Stevens, and Community School of Naples. Coach Craig Davis, a first year defensive coach, says the game with Gulf Coast will be the teams first challenge of the season.  “Gulf Coast will be a good measuring stick to see where we are as a team and how we can perform as a team against a good team”. The team this year has played some easier games giving the a good confidence boost and growing our skill level, but today will be the final test for the team.

They have many good players including senior Austin Santoro. Santoro has 17 goals and 10 assists this year.

Most of our talent is in our junior class including Frankie Leckler, the number one defensive player on our team. Another Verot junior, Jack Cronin, has 8 goals and 6 assists while and Brayden Tooley has 14 goals and 11 assists.  Rounding out the talented junior class is another very talented midfielder and attackman, Aydan Feeney has 19 goals and 18 assists.

In the sophomore class, Trey Toscano is a standout player with 21 goals and 26 assists.

The next game for the Verot Lacrosse team is on march 8th against Coumminty School of Naples.

We’re hoping the boys have a great a great season and can make it past districts.
