Last Friday our Bishop Verot Vikings traveled to Delray to take on the Stallions of American Heritage.

As the end of the first quarter was approaching a 0-0 score, #15 Deaglan Camron put the first points of the board. He managed to kick a 23-yard field goal, with 1:37 minutes left, putting the Vikings in the lead with 3 points.

Second-quarter begins with a score of 3-0, but not for long. #28 Austin Redd intercepted the ball from the quarterback #10 Dylan Rizk. This gave an opportunity for Verots offense to show out, and they did not hesitate. With eight minutes left in the second quarter, #8 Malik Curtis proceed to run 11 yards for a touchdown, and #15 Deaglan Cameron also getting the extra point from his field goal.

Third-quarter started with a 10-0 lead for the Vikings. The intensity was high which caused no points for either team until 3:12. American Heritage #10 Dylan Rizk made a complete pass to #8 Brandyn Butler for -3 yards causing a safety, this gave Verot 2 extra points.

Fourth-quarter began with a 12-0 lead by the Vikings. With 6:19 minutes left in the game, Verots quarterback saw an opportunity and didn’t hesitate. #16 Jacob Azizi ran for 71 yards in order to score a touchdown! Not only did Verot gain a touchdown but they also got the extra point from #15 Deaglan Camron’s field goal. This made the final score 19-0, Vikings win.

The game leaders from Verot are: #16 Jacob Azizi pass 146 yards, 1 touchdown, and rushed 86 yards and #8, Malik Curtis, with 61 yards and 1 touchdown.

American Heritages game leaders are #10 Dylan Rizk with 84 yards, #22 Trey Rainey with 84 yards, and #7 Matthew Smiciklas with 51 yards. Bishop Verot ended the game with 146 passing yards, 167 rushing yards, 16 first downs, 2 turnovers, and 8 penalties. American Heritage ended the game with 84 passing yards, 11 rushing yards, 8 first downs, 2 turnovers, and 6 penalties.
